ABOUT THE ROLE
The Accounting Manager owns AAT’s accounting function end to end — not maintaining a system someone else built, but designing one for a cross-border operating platform from scratch. This role sits close to the founders, carries real statutory and financial accountability, and is expected to build the frameworks AAT will run on as it scales across Sydney and Ho Chi Minh City. Clear ownership and independent judgment matter more here than years on a title.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
– Organise and govern the full accounting system in compliance with Vietnamese Accounting Standards (VAS), including tax declarations and statutory finalisation
– Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and management reports
– Manage cash flow, receivables/payables, and reconciliation across all company accounts
– Act as the primary liaison with auditors, tax authorities and regulatory bodies
– Design and implement project-based costing and management accounting for AAT’s service contracts, built from the ground up rather than adapted from an existing system
– Establish the tax treatment for foreign contractor transactions and cross-border dealings between AAT’s Sydney and Ho Chi Minh City entities
– Propose and implement an internal control and expenditure-approval framework suited to a fast-growing platform, not inherited from a prior employer’s playbook
– Advise the founders on a consolidated reporting model as AAT’s Australian entity scales
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
– 15+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including at least 3+ years at Chief Accountant or Head of Accounting level
– Active, verifiable chứng chỉ hành nghề kế toán (licensed accounting practitioner certification) — required
– Demonstrated experience designing an accounting system from the ground up, not only operating one already in place
– Strong working knowledge of VAS; exposure to IFRS reporting is an advantage
– Proficiency in MISA or equivalent accounting software
– Comfortable communicating cross-border with the Sydney office
– Independent judgment and comfort operating with high autonomy in an early-stage, fast-changing environment
